What is DSS?

WHO ARE WE?

A group of people living mostly in central Scotland with some kind of link to Denmark: family, friendship or professional. Our members are from all walks of life.

WHAT DO WE DO?

We are a social club and host a variety of events. We celebrate Danish festivals - Carnival (fastelavn), Midsummer Solstice (Sankt Hans aften), Martinmas (Mortensaften) and Christmas (singing and dancing around the Christmas tree), Scottish traditional events: Burns night, ceilidhs, and various other social events: Christmas decoration efternoon, walking tours, film nights etc etc etc.

We also keep our members informed about events arranged by the Danish Cultural Institute, such as exhibitions, concerts, lectures etc. and in cooperation with the Royal Danish Consulate.

WHERE ARE WE?

We usually meet in the Danish Cultural Institute, but sometimes also in pubs, in members homes, hotels etc.

MEMBERSHIP

The membership fee is very reasonable at 5 GBP for singles, 8 GBP for couples and 3 GBP for students.
